Packing is my least favorite part of traveling. The thought of me wanting to bring my whole wardrobe with me versus the capacity of my luggage actually annoys me so much. Nevertheless, I have been coping with this for quite a while now – that I think, I would like to share my tips and tricks for traveling and packing in style. Keep scrolling!
DITCH ALL BOXES
For those who adore your shoes and bags too much, I understand the fear of flattening your bags and shoes into your suitcase. That is why some people decide to still bring the boxes everywhere.
My advice: don’t. Instead, put your shoes and bags into the dustbags; but before that, stuff them up with papers so they won’t lose their shape. This way, the shoes and bags won’t take as much spaces as they would if you are taking the boxes with you.
BRING ALL THE MINIS
I personally love collecting travel size freebies that I got when I go shopping. For example, I always bring travel sized bottle for my skincare, soap and shampoo (they are the must-haves) because I have sensitive facial skin and scalp. Oh and also don’t forget the travel sized perfume. These minis allow me to have more weight space for other stuffs.
RELY ON 2-2-2 RULES
Bottom rule is, you can always rely on 2-2-2; meaning, bring only 2 different types of coats/outerwears, shoes, and bags. Make sure you choose carefully so you can match those two with anything you’d be wearing. For instance, bring one flat shoes and one boots; one feminine coats and one oversized denim jacket; one sling bag and one oversized bag.
BRING BOTH BASIC AND STATEMENT OUTFITS
I rely on the beauty of layering when I travel. This is exactly why I bring both basic and statement outfits like basic turtlenecks with basic colors (grey, white, black, and nude) – and also, dresses I can layer on top of the turtlenecks. When combined with different outerwears, you can actually create an impression that you are bringing the whole wardrobe with you.
