If you are about to spend some holiday time in L.A., then this post is definitely for you.
I went to the States last December with Kalvin’s family for one month – and get to spend some time in L.A. I have to be honest, I’m not exactly the expert as in living-in-LA-for-25-years-expert, but I got to say, I found five amazing asian restaurants there. So I guess if you are about to go there, you may take this list with you – or, if you are the expert, please do share your favorites in the comment section below!
PA ORD NOODLE
Pa Ord Noodle is a local eatery serving traditional Thai cooking and noodle dishes. I don’t know – if you check Yelp, Pa-Ord Noodle is not exactly ranked 5 out of 5, but this is one of my favorites. They serve amazing broth with spice powder and ingredients like beef blood, tripe, and liver. The price is very decent – and this is perfect for you who love spicy food.
TATSU RAMEN
A lot of people recommended this place to me the moment I mentioned L.A. and they were right. I am a huge fan of ramen, and Tatsu Ramen is one of the bests in L.A. The queue was long, but I personally think it was worth the wait (and worth the calorie).
BEVERLY SOON TOFU RESTAURANT
We were craving Korean food badly when we visited Beverly Soon Tofu Restaurant. The kimchi and pork soon tofu with bulgogi combination is definitely a must-try! The restaurant is a bit small so it can get a little cramped, but the food is great so I’m putting this in my list.
SUN NONG DAN
This place is amazing not only for the food, but for the fact that they are open 24/7. But the food – the meat was so tender and they sprinkled cheese on top. Although the price is a bit more expensive than average, you should definitely give them a visit. They are well-known for the soups, especially the sullungtang.
KAZUNORI
Kazunori is our favorite and go-to sushi places in the city. Their specialty is the hand-rolls. You can order an a la carte, or hand roll sets – and ingredients were so fresh I was so obsessed. If you are a huge fan of seafood, fish, and Japanese food, try to drop by Kazunori. You won’t get disappointed!
