One of my top model inspirations is Miranda Kerr – and she can’t seem to get enough of denim trends. While denim might be one way to look super casual, Miranda Kerr managed to pull it off as a high-fashion thing.
Putting together denim on denim and pulling it off like a top model can be a bit tricky. Personally, I don’t usually wear denim too often, but when I do, I have several tips to keep it very fashionable.
PLAY WITH SHADES OF DENIM
By playing with shades of denim, you are actually avoiding to look very single-colored. For instance, you can pair white denim with blue denim. Choosing a slightly different shade of blue is also the best rule to go.
AVOID DENIM ACCESSORIES
Yes. There is such thing as too much denim. So you can keep the denim dress or pair denim shirt with jeans, but say no to denim shoes, hat, or handbags. You don’t want to look too matchy-matchy.
AVOID COWBOY ACCESSORIES
Denim-on-denim surely reminds everyone about westerns, but cowboy boots, cowboy hats, bolo ties, and Western belts are not the perfect choices. Remember, you aim to look high-fashioned – and looking cowboy-ish is not how.
ELEVATE YOUR LOOK
You can elevate your denim-on-denim look by including statement heels, outerwear, sneakers, or a fabulous red lip for a final touch.
Hello Olivia, I want to know how do you think about how to look stunning in denim for overweight ladies? Do you think denim skirt is still appropriate for these fatties or is there any trick to cover the certain curves without leaving this denim?
Hi Vicky. For fuller body type, denim is always a good investment. The key here is not to hide fatties or certain curves but to embrace it instead. My recommendation is to follow fashion inspiration from Meghan Trainor or Amy Schumer. They both have curves and they certainly love their curves. While I can’t get into elaborated details here, but if you want, please do drop another comment on any title suggestion for another blog post that you want to hear from me. I will definitely take it into consideration.
Hi Olivia, where did you get that white tee from? I really need one at the moment, and that one looks perfect! Thanks x
