In Jakarta, it is really hard to predict the weather. According to the textbook, it is supposed to be dry season these days; and yet every now and then, the sky can suddenly pour rain storms. It might look like something really small, but it can be a real problem for us ladies to choose what to wear during these days. Technically it doesn’t only happen in Jakarta, but this is especially inconvenient when travelling. Therefore, to avoid fashion blows, today I will be sharing my style tips to stay dry, comfortable, and fashionable when it is hot and rainy.

AVOID LONG PANTS

Tuck in all your pants back in the closet right now. It is suggested to wear a dress or skirt on days like these – because wet pants–either because of rain or sweat–are not comfortable nor professional.

WEAR FLATS

Heels are women’s best friends, but not particularly so when the rain pours down. The roads and passageways will be wet and slippery, so it is better to keep our heels for another occasion and stick to the most comfortable footwear.

KEEP SILK AWAY

Silk can make us look super chic, but it is better to keep it away when it is hot and rainy; simply because sweat shows on silk. We don’t want to risk drawing attention to the fact that we are sweating, do we?

LEAVE HEAVY ACCESSORIES BEHIND

During hot and rainy days, minimalist styling is the key. Leave heavy stacks of bracelets or necklaces so we can avoid damaging our favourite pieces, and grab the simplest–golden chained necklaces.
