It’s almost a new year and for some people, their wish is to find someone to love. I am now married, but to be honest, sometimes I think people exaggerate weddings and being married.
I mean, I love being married including all its perks – and I am in a very happy marriage; but some people whine about being single and how they are so worried thinking they will never find love.
Take it from me: there is absolutely no reason to panic about being single. Surely, being in a great relationship is amazing, but great relationships are not easy to come by either. So for those of you who start feeling discouraged, I would like to end the year by pointing four things about being single and how to enjoy it.
TAKE TIME TO FIND THE RIGHT PERSON IS BETTER THAN BEING IN THE WRONG RELATIONSHIP
Been there done that: rushing into a relationship just because you are scared to be alone will never end up well. I get it. You might be feeling lonely from time to time, but it is much, much worse to be in a relationship with someone who is not great or simply is not compatible with you. Relationship is hard. It drains your energy, time, and of course money – but with the right guy, you’ll not ‘drain’ anything. You will ‘invest’. So make sure you take your time to find someone worth investing.
DEVELOP A STRONG, INDEPENDENT, LOVING, AND GENEROUS SELF
One thing to never forget is to keep a perfect balance between being a strong and independent woman with being a loving and generous one. Some people grow too strong and too independent of a woman that they forget to nurture their very loving and generous self. Don’t lose sight of all the amazing qualities. You don’t need a partner to develop a loving character. You can start now.
NURTURE YOUR SELF WORTH
Being single doesn’t mean nobody wanted you. It means you are taking charge of your future and being selective of the people you allow to get into your life. Again, there is nothing wrong with taking your sweet time and loving yourself as of your worth.
DRESS UP FOR YOURSELF
Don’t wait for a guy or a date to dress up. Go dress up. Put on your make up. Feel confident. Try different styles. Take pictures. And do all those things for yourself – not because you have a date or there’s this guy you like.

Nurturing self love is so important thank you for publishing this. We can’t find others to love us, until we love ourselves.
the last is the first things i do 😀 xoxo thankyou
I totally agree with everything that’s written here. I know there will be that perfect time to meet the right guy for you. Thanks for these, Olivia.
Haha. Thank you for sharing.. I’ve been known you through instagram few years ago—since you haven’t been marriend to Kal. Lately I’ve been became so cynical person, I don’t know why—perhaps it’s bcause I’m so bored with my no-ending job or I found it so lonely to be alone, in this case no lover. Like you said in those point above, some women grew too strong & independent until they forget to be loving & generous, I think I’m becoming that kind of women now. 🙁 But after reading your blog of this, I’m feeling so lucky like someone is pulling me out of my confusion. Thank you, Olivia. Realize it or not, trough your writing, it helps people—like me. And certainly, I’ll start to the fourth point too. 😉
And also you posted it on 17 Dec exactly on my birthdate, I thought it was destined for me. What a nice coincidence, believe it or not. Heheh
