#OliviasTravelDiary: 111Resorts

April 6, 2015

We were looking for a private place to stay in Bali, but most of the places we found took us to remote areas. Which wasn’t suitable as we had a lot of activities around town and wanted to minimize our travelling time. There was a lot of hotels too, but it didn’t give us the privacy we needed. Then we found One Eleven Resort. It was what we were looking for. Spacey, quite, private, and most of all close to most places around Seminyak area (but we ended up staying in the villa because it was so comfortable, more on that later).

We were ushered using with our own personal golf buggy from the lobby to our villa. As we were driving past closed doors, the resort staff gave a brief tour of the resort. I didn’t really hear much as I was enjoying my ride but briefly she said, “There are 9 villas… around 350 sqm each.. with 14 meter private pool and a private gazebo for spa and massages.” “Very impressive.” I thought to myself and giving her a nodding gesture with an amazement expression. Thinking back, I might have looked too impressed.

As we were rushing around the place with kid-like excitement (imagine a kid in Disneyland), the staff called us into the gazebo. They gave us a very fresh and refreshing welcome drink and they washed our feet in a bucket of flowers! My feet smelt better than my breath, that is one thing you don’t say very often.

After our brief ride, we entered the Villa. And there it was. The 14 meter private pool, grass so green that you want to walk it with your bare feet, the gazebo, the open living room and kitchen, and of course the bedroom. You know that sensation when you expect something good but turned out to be something better than great. Yes, we were overwhelmed.

The bedroom and bathroom overlooks the pool through a glass wall. Both rooms are huge. They use wood and stone for their architectural design, which gives this very modern but natural feel. And then there was the important question, the bed. It was super comfortable. I could spend the rest of my stay on that bed if it weren’t for the pool. They also provide basic amenities for both male and female, which also includes sun block & cooling gel.

Out of nowhere, torrential rain started to pour down on us. I was felling slightly disappointed with the weather and hoped that it will end as soon as possible. But it was a good time for to relax and enjoy the moment by the pool. After some time, it finally stopped! and I immediately changed into my swimwear and jump into the pool. You can watch my pool video here.

Next thing we know, the sun had set and it was dinner time. We had actually planned to eat out, but we decided we do not want to leave our beautiful villa, so we ordered room service.

The next morning, we had our breakfast by the pool. The chef will personally cook our breakfast in our villa’s kitchen. I had chicken porridge and Kalvin is having the fried rice. We spent our morning with a very hearty meal while watching the news.

Luckily, the day was very sunny. But we had to get ready for check out. I had one last relaxing time by the pool before leaving the villa. We really enjoyed our stay even though it was only for one night. See you again another time, Villa number 6!
